Sustainability & Responsibility
Mining with Purpose. Respecting People and Planet.
We follow global ESG frameworks, adapted to the realities of small-scale operations in emerging markets.
Local Empowerment
We work with, not around, local communities.
Our projects are built in collaboration with artisanal miners, co-operatives, and local governments. We ensure:
- Fair and formalized partnerships
- Local employment and training
- Revenue-sharing models
- Health and safety programs onsite
We trained 30+ local miners in safer extraction methods using low-impact tools.
Environmental Stewardship
Gold mining with minimal footprint.
Metro Bullion’s strategy uses low-impact, non-cyanide techniques wherever possible and focuses on surface-level sites that don’t require heavy disruption.
Key Commitments:
- No open-pit operations without local approval
- Reforestation and site rehabilitation planning
- Safe tailings and waste management
- Solar-based power alternatives in remote sites
Target: Achieve 80% solar-supported operations by 2029
Governance & Ethics
We lead with transparency and accountability.
From financial reporting to anti-corruption, our governance model is built to meet the highest standards — even in the most remote regions.
Our Framework Includes:
- Anti-bribery & anti-corruption policies
- Transparent contracts and disclosures
- Independent board-level oversight (in progress)
- Gender and diversity inclusion standards
We aim to become a model for modern small-scale mining governance in frontier markets.
Aligned with Global Standards
Our principles align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), particularly:
- Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
- Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
- Goal 13: Climate Action
- Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals
We aim to become a model for modern small-scale mining governance in frontier markets.
